Ashlyn Peterson, MS, LAT, ATC
Ashlyn has been with Bon Secours & J.R. Tucker High School since January of 2016. She graduated from Longwood University in 2012 with a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training. She went onto Auburn University where she graduated in 2013 with her Masters of Education in Exercise Science in Athletic Training. While at Auburn, she worked with the Warrior Athletic Training Program and was the first athletic trainer to work with Auburn’s Army ROTC. Ashlyn also completed a research study while at Auburn entitled “The Influence of Flexibility on Knee Overuse Injuries: A Meta-Analysis”. In June of 2014, Ashlyn presented the study via a poster presentation at the National Athletic Trainers Association annual conference in Indianapolis. In November of 2016 a study that Ashlyn worked on was published in the special tactical athlete issue of the Journal of Athletic Training. The article is entitled “A Meta-Analysis to Determine if Lower Extremity Muscle Strengthening Should Be Included in Military Knee Overuse Injury-Prevention Programs”. In her free time, Ashlyn enjoys reading, being outdoors, completing house projects, and spending time with her husband and their puppy.
