Jay has been practicing physical therapy in Richmond since 2007. He has worked to develop a thorough approach to treat a wide variety of patients, but with his background in sports, he has a special interest in athletes and helping return them to competition. In 2013, Jay became a Board Certified Specialist is sports physical therapy. In addition to his interests in sports medicine Jay has experience treating clients post-surgically in the out patient setting. Jay believes in a multifaceted approach to rehab and utilizes exercise and manual interventions in his treatment, but he believes that prevention is a key component in physical therapy. He will put an emphasis on developing a treatment strategy that will work best for you to reach your functional goals.
Special interest: slow motion biomechanical analysis for gait and throwing, custom orthotics, upper and lower extremity post-surgical rehabilitation, sports orthopedics
Outside the clinic: Jay grew up playing baseball and still pitches in a summer league back home in Deltaville, VA. He also enjoys playing golf and skiing. When he isn’t involved with work or sports Jay enjoys spending the rest of his time at home with his wife and son.
