The Biggest Loser: Finishing What You Start
It’s hard to believe the remaining contestants on The Biggest Loser are the same people who started the show 20 weeks before. Losing 150 pounds is like losing the weight of an entire person.
It’s a testament to how diet and exercise can work if you do it consistently and with the help of personal trainers and Registered Dieticians.
I’m always impressed by the physical changes at this point in the show.
But what’s even more compelling is what the contestants have to say about themselves.
Olivia, an opera singer, started the show weighing 261 pounds. Last night, she weighed in at 149. She also secured a spot for herself in the finals to win $250,000.
For the first time, she said, “I’m finishing something.”
What an accomplishment. And it applies to so many people struggling with weight loss.
How many times have you started a diet, then quit, then started again? How many times have you tried to get into a routine of working out? What made you give up?
As much as I enjoy watching The Biggest Loser, I don’t believe you have to go on a TV show to lose weight. Even if you need to lose 200 pounds.
With the right help from fitness and nutrition professionals, you can lose weight and learn how to keep it off permanently. The whole world doesn’t need to participate. Just you.
